CONSERVATORIES FAQ

DO CONSERVATORIES NEED PLANNING PERMISSION?

Generally speaking, Conservatories do not require planning permission when the Conservatories floor does not exceed 40 square METRES (430 square feet). Also, the conservatories must leave at least 25 square metres of garden space.
Large conservatories may require planning permission and Gama Groups will advise when planning permission may need to be sought.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CONSERVATORY AND AN ORANGERY?

The difference between a conservatory and other home extensions is that a conservatory has a glass roof, while an extension like an orangery has a solid roof, with glazed lanterns to let in light.

DO YOU OFFER CONSERVATORY ROOF REPLACEMENTS?

Yes, we have extensive experience in replacing conservatory roofs in older conservatories. If you’re interested in a conservatory roof replacement quote get in contact with Gama Group today.
